About this Portfolio

Compiled from photographs previously posted on this website (as many negatives have not been digitized yet), this selection attempts to showcase my preferred subject matters, being portraiture, landscapes, urban scenes and what I can only describe as ‘moments’.

Visual storytelling is a concept that has for long appealed to me, and a few projects based on various narratives are underway as of writing, and not (yet) presented here. This portfolio as such is not static and will be updated when appropriate.

After conceptualization -if at all-, my process usually entails selecting a film stock suitable for the intended subject or environment, and a camera I trust. I no longer develop film myself as life simply gets in the way too often, therefor negatives are sent to a local lab for processing and scanning. Post-production work is minimal, as the below comparison demonstrates:

Original scan on the left; color level adjusted export on the right.

As I’ve always preferred working with what is available to me -including daylight-, my gear does not include fancy Hasselblads or flash lights and my film fridge contains anything from (somewhat) fresh Eastman Vision3 to 20 year-old expired Fuji rolls, including any kind of experimental or cornerstore stock inbetween. An element of surprise is a substantial part of my motivation.
