From a trip many years ago, this bridge, and its spiral ramp, were an awesome sight, and I’m sure a huge feat of engineering.

An off-the-street motel in Niagara during a hot summer day. This was years ago, and I’m not sure if it’s still around, as many businesses in the town core and immediate surroundings have closed. Clifton Hill is still thriving, of course, if you want to throw your money at some tourist kitsch. Just visit the Falls off-season, is my advice.

From a weekend visit to Detroit that became a much longer trip than anticipated. I did enjoy Detroit, especially the John K. King bookstore, and would have loved to go back with a more photographic purpose.

From a trip to Wenzhou decades ago, shortly after the station’s completed renovation. You could catch a train to Hong Kong from here, too. Shot on colour reversal film (probably Fuji Provia), which I still have to find back to confirm.

A visit to the Cheese Boutique in Toronto, not unlike other cheese specialty stores around here, always turns out to be a costly endeavour. Not because they overcharge their products, but because of scarcity. These kinds of shops are not widely spread out throughout the GTA, nor are there many of them. They become a destination one should plan for. And with that in mind, a single piece of Gruyère just won’t do. One walks out with Gouda, Mimolette, Grey Owl, Le Vigneron, Calabogie Blue, Iberico ham, Castelvetrano olives, Portugese sardines…and/or anything else that calls your name. Ka-ching! But is it worth the smörgåsbord? You bet your rind it is.
